2023 Christmas Opening Hours

Melville Markets will only need to close for 2 Sundays during the festive season, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.

We are very grateful to Hawaiian Melville Shopping Centre for allowing the Melville Markets to operate on the 10th and 17th December which is when the shops are open too.

Hawaiian Melville Shopping Centre have asked that we continue to keep the walk ways clear to allow shoppers to enter the shopping centre and as always make sure we are out of the car park before 10:30am.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

40 year of Melville Markets

It's been an incredible 40 years since the Melville Rotary was established, and we want to take a moment to recognize and congratulate the visionary businessmen who started the Sunday Market committee, including Ted John as chair, Rusty Christendom, Murray Edinger, and others who had the foresight to create such a successful initiative.

We are proud to share that in a good year, the Sunday Market raises over $80,000, which is directly used to support a range of Rotary Community projects and local people in need. These include the Rotary Youth Leadership program, Rotary Youth Enrichment Program, University Indigenous Scholarship, Living Child support for birthing in PNG, Polio Plus for the eradication of polio, Flood Relief, Bushfire Relief, Leeuwin Sail Ship Training for Youth Development, Tree Planting to help the environment, ShelterBox Tents for countries experiencing emergency aid requirements, and the Rotary Foundation for worldwide medical aid.

We are incredibly grateful for our weekly supporters who buy and sell goods, including plants and crafts from local artists, every Sunday from 6am to 10am. We invite everyone to come along and try it out, and to support the Melville Rotary's initiatives, which have had such a positive impact on the community.

About Melville Markets

Melville Markets are held at Melville Plaza every Sunday from 6:00am to 10:00am. Sellers are not permitted to move their vehicles until 10:00am and must vacate the shopping centre by 10:30am.

If the weather is sunny, sellers are expected to arrive from 4:30am onwards. The cost is $15 per car parking bay, whether or not the bay is marked. Rotarians will collect payment for the bays early in the morning.

Please refrain from parking on the verandas or walk paths, as well as setting up stalls on them. Additionally, do not place any items on the garden beds. It is not possible to book bays, and sellers must not reserve them or camp in the carpark. Only pre-used, plants (not including cut flowers) or hand made goods are allowed, and new products are not permitted, particularly imitation handbags imported from Bali. Food products are also not allowed.

Sellers are required to remove all unsold goods, boxes, and rubbish and dispose of them in the large bin at the rear of the shopping centre. Additionally, it is expected that sellers will pick up their rubbish and broken china and sweep up if selling plants. Toilets are open from 6:00am to 10:00am.

Finally, all sellers must follow the directions and decisions of the Rotarians on duty. Enjoy your markets experience!
